Will you join me?
Folks, are you following the news in Louisiana?
Less than 48 hours ago, Governor John Bel Edwards vetoed an extreme Congressional redistricting map proposed by our state’s legislature.
Despite Black voters making up almost a third of our state’s population, the legislature passed maps that include only one majority Black district. This map deprives the Black community of fair and equal representation so a handful of politicians can choose their voters.
Let’s be clear: voters choose their leaders in a democracy, not the other way around.
I not only fully support Governor Edwards’ decision, but I am counting on 500 supporters to join me in thanking him for defending our democracy >>>
The truth is: Louisiana is in dire need of responsible leaders who fight to ensure EVERY community can make their voice heard and EVERY vote counts.
Senator Kennedy voted to overturn a free and fair election in 2020, and today, he spends more time delivering cheap one-liners on cable television than protecting our freedom to vote.
On the other hand, Governor Edwards has fought tooth and nail to fend off those working to deprive us of the right to vote in Louisiana. And as your next Senator, you can count on me to do the same.
If you support Governor Edwards’ stand against extreme Congressional maps, add your name next to mine, and let’s thank him for his responsible leadership >>>
