Let me explain why this matters.

Anti-choice GOP legislators in Pennsylvania spent the better part of 2021 trying to pass excessive restrictions on reproductive rights — including outlawing abortion after 6 weeks of pregnancy. That’s more extreme than Texas’s current abortion ban.

The only reason these unconstitutional bans haven’t been passed is because we have pro-choice Democrats in Harrisburg fighting for our right to make decisions about our bodies and our health care. But there’s a high chance that the Supreme Court will weaken — or even overturn — Roe, which would put the legality of abortion into the hands of state legislatures.

Anti-abortion Republicans hold the majority in our General Assembly, and they’ve packed our courts, too. If we’re going to protect abortion access in 2022, we have to commit to voting for pro-choice Democrats down the ballot this election.
