Dear John,
Join Lillian’s List this Women’s History Month as we reflect on the progress we have made to advance gender equity and reproductive freedom and hear from some trailblazing women serving and advancing women in elected office! On March 22 at 7PM we're hosting the the Women Breaking Barriers Panel. Register for this free event today.
We will be joined by a panel of incredible women and we will have special remarks from former Chief Justice Cheri Beasley. Cheri was the first Black woman to serve as the Chief Justice of the NC Supreme Court and she continues to break barriers in her campaign to be the next US Senator from North Carolina. If elected, Cheri would be the first African American to represent North Carolina in the Senate! Currently, there are no Black women serving in the US Senate. Register today!
In addition to hearing from Cheri, we will be joined by a panel of women who have shattered glass ceilings in their service all over North Carolina. Dimple Ajmera from the Charlotte City Council, Representative Vernetta Alston from Durham, Ya Liu from the Cary City Council, NC Democratic Party Chair and former Representative from Franklin & Nash Counties, Bobbie Richardson, among others, will be joining us. We can’t wait to hear their reflections on service in elected office, the progress women have made, and work we still have to do to secure gender equity and reproductive freedom!
