National Harm Reduction Coalition brings people together to work for the dignity and rights of people who use drugs. Help us to continue this life-saving work by donating today. Your donation ensures that we can continue to dismantle stigma, ensure access to essential resources for people who use drugs across the U.S., and to help deepen our capacity as a movement.

There are many ways to support - becoming a Harm Reduction Champion, donating to the 13th Annual Harm Reduction Conference Scholarship Fund, planning a fundraiser, and more!

13th Annual Harm Reduction Conference Scholarship Fund

The Harm Reduction Conference is the only conference of its kind in the United States. Our four-day event, held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, provides an opportunity for folks such as people who use drugs, activists, health providers, practitioners, policymakers, and public health officials to network, think critically, learn the latest information and discuss strategies to address critical issues affecting people who use drugs including hepatitis C, HIV, overdose, drug treatment, stigma, and incarceration.

Given the location and cost of attendance, NHRC has created a scholarship fund for those who are unable to attend at full price. Money donated to this fund will be used to cover recipients’ registration and/or hotel.

Note: Priority is given to people with limited resources who use drugs, have a history of drug use, people living with HIV/AIDS or Hepatitis C, BIPOC, youth, people who engage in sex work, people who are transgender, gender non-conforming people, and people of other marginalized identities.

Become a Harm Reduction Champion

Last year, we were able to challenge statewide policy, reverse hundreds of overdoses and equip our community members with the resources and tools to advocate for change. We’ve been able to do this through grants, funding, and most importantly, our special community of supporters called Harm Reduction Champions.

Ranging from monthly gifts of $5 to $100, our Harm Reduction Champions help our organization to make a lasting impact in the harm reduction community. Becoming a harm reduction champion helps our organization achieve our ambitious goal of developing innovative approaches, providing free resources, and organizing.

Signing up for our monthly giving program makes a long-term impact, tailored to you and hassle-free!

Facebook Birthday Fundraiser Toolkit

Since we’ve started accepting donations via Facebook, we’ve had more than 200 supporters creating fundraisers and dedicating their birthdays to further our work and the harm reduction community.

Our development team created a toolkit that serves as a step-by-step guide for those who are new to Facebook fundraisers. For those who are more familiar with setting up a Facebook fundraiser, feel free to share the toolkit with your friends, family, and network!

Leaving a Legacy

Last year, NHRC launched our partnership with FreeWill, a free online estate planning platform. Over 350,000 people from different backgrounds, ages, and circumstances have trusted FreeWill to support their loved ones through legal planning.

Our partnership will FreeWill provides the opportunity for community members who are interested in funding the future of harm reduction in a unique way through informational sessions and secure will-writing resources.
