Dear John,
Over the last year, Congress took historic steps that brought us closer than ever to ending the Hyde Amendment: the U.S. House passed the very first spending bill in history without Hyde or any abortion coverage bans and the U.S. Senate introduced its first bill without these harmful policies.
The gains we saw reflect decades of work led by women of color and would not have been possible without the leadership of elected officials like U.S. Senator Patty Murray, U.S. House Reps. Rosa DeLauro and Barbara Lee, and more, who are committed to ending coverage bans that disproportionately harm people of color working to make ends meet.

We are the majority of Americans who believe Medicaid should cover abortion. While the final spending bill isn't the outcome we wanted, we are confident that soon a majority of lawmakers will understand the impact of denying abortion coverage.
John, can you join us in thanking the #BeBoldEndHyde leaders in Congress for their historic work and commitment to ending abortion coverage bans this past year? [[link removed]]
Thanks for all you do,
