** DC Young Republican March Membership Meeting

We’re back at the Capitol Hill Club this month! Meet fellow Young Republicans from across the city next Monday, March 14th over drinks & popcorn. Doors open for networking at 6:30 PM ET.

In addition to a special guest speaker presentation, our declared candidates for Executive Board positions will have the opportunity to make brief speeches addressing the general membership. This month’s meeting also serves as an opportunity for those who missed the deadline to file to be nominated from the floor.

** It’s Time for Executive Board Elections!

We thank all the candidates who have filed to run for leadership positions!

We will be holding our annual Executive Board Elections Happy Hour on Tuesday, March 22nd, from 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM ET at Mission Navy Yard.

Elections will be held using a secret paper ballot. Only Active/Full Members will be permitted to attend & vote.

Results will be announced via social media following the voting period. Business casual attire is recommended. This is a 21 and up event.

** Professional Development Opportunity!

We are elated to share that the DC Young Republicans will be co-facilitating an upcoming Leadership Institute Workshop hosted at Hillsdale College!

The upcoming workshop is titled, “Graduate School Workshop: Pursuing an Advanced Degree in Government & Politics.” This event will be taking place on Wednesday, March 30th from 5:00 to 9:00 PM.

This is a terrific opportunity to learn from representatives from leading local universities about advanced career & educational opportunities. In addition to the workshop, there will be plenty of opportunities to connect and network at the beginning and end of the program with members of other young professional groups.

EVENT DESCRIPTION:

The Graduate School Workshop is designed to help you decide whether graduate school would enhance your professional career – not only with facts and knowledge about our government but in living out the virtue of study and professional development necessary to restore constitutional self-government in the United States.

Whether you're in college, have recently graduated, or are currently working, this workshop is valuable for anyone interested in weighing the pluses and minuses of pursuing an advanced degree, and how to craft the perfect application package.

The workshop will focus on advanced degrees in the governing arts, including government (politics, public policy, public administration), public affairs (communications, marketing, and journalism), related social sciences (economics, history, philosophy, and international relations), and the law.

Admissions staff and faculty from local Washington, D.C.-area universities will provide expert insight on why you should pursue graduate education, incorporating best practices when applying to graduate school, and the need to train future civic and public policy leaders to save America.

The DC Young Republicans, in conjunction with the DC Federation of College Republicans, will be hosting an evening of networking and career development over soft drinks and ice cream. A moderated career panel will offer advice on how to enter three in-demand career fields that are unique to DC, as well as how to expand your network and hone your professional skills. This is an 18 and up event.
