Last January—in between the insurrection and the inauguration—I launched BACKROADS PAC. It was a fitting time, as both moments underscored just how important Democratic control of Congress is for our democracy and the progress we’ve been fighting for.

BACKROADS PAC’s mission is to support rural Democrats around the country. As a former candidate, I know first-hand how Democrats in rural areas have been left behind for decades, lacking infrastructure, organization, and resources. That’s what we are working to change.

Thanks to your support, we’ve made exciting inroads towards our mission:
 

• We endorsed, supported, and raised grassroots money for three Democratic frontline incumbents and four challengers in some of the most important districts in the country—and will endorse more after primaries.
   
• We invested $60,000 in nationwide research and polling in key swing districts in states like Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
   
• We’re building fundraising and staffing infrastructure to ensure BACKROADS PAC is a sustainable movement to support rural Democrats for years to come.
   

BACKROADS PAC is in it for the long haul. Democrats have ignored rural districts for far too long, and change isn’t going to happen overnight. Our mission is to build back Democratic infrastructure in rural districts that will pay dividends now and in the future.
