President Biden’s historic nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is a proud moment for our country.

Judge Jackson went from serving over eight years on the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to serving on the nation’s second most powerful court — the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.

If confirmed by the Senate, she will be the first Black woman to ever sit on the highest court in the nation.

The good news is she’s earning praise from both Democrats and Republicans — she was even confirmed by the Senate three times with bipartisan support.

But if the past is prologue, extremists like Senator Kennedy will make a spectacle of Judge Jackson’s confirmation hearing and stall the process to score political points.
