We here at No Dem Left Behind have never been fans of the scare-tactic e-mail.
You know the one, the all-caps email that says something like: “OMG!!! WE JUST FOUND OUT THE WHOLE WORLD IS A BOMB AND IT WILL EXPLODE IF YOU DON’T DONATE $5 BY TONIGHT!”
But today, we’re actually really scared – and we feel like we have to sound the alarm, because the media simply hasn’t been covering this MAJOR, FRIGHTENING development.
We’ve written to you before about the enormous financial war chest Donald Trump has been building since he left office last year -- $122 million and counting.
What we didn’t realize until recently is how he plans to spend it – and it’s SO MUCH WORSE than we ever expected.
It turns out that when Trump runs his sphincter-like mouth about primaries he has no business getting involved in, it’s just a smokescreen to distract from his REAL intentions: To take over the entire United States election system, one state at a time.
You see, Trump’s team has quietly been dumping tons of cash into races for Secretary of State – a previously low-profile and nonpartisan position that just happens to be the one that oversees vote counting and recounts and certifies — or rejects — the results.
You can see where this is going.
If Trump is able to install loyalists in these critical offices overseeing elections in battleground states, there may be no way of stopping him in 2024, whether he actually wins or not.
Every single candidate Trump has endorsed for Secretary of State parrots The Big Lie that the 2020 election was stolen.
Like in Georgia, where Congressman Jody Hice is challenging Brad Raffensperger, the Republican incumbent who bravely refused to “find 11,780 votes” to flip the state for Trump.
Hice has been one of the most vocal supporters of Trump’s Big Lie. He tried to stop certification of Biden’s presidency and petitioned the Supreme Court to overturn the election for Trump. And he’s already raised twice as much as Raffensberger has in the campaign for Secretary of State.
So far, there are more than 20 candidates running for Secretary of State who deny that President Biden won the 2020 election, and Trumpworld’s involvement in these races has transformed them from sedate and obscure down-ballot contests to all-out war.
John, it’s vital you and I do everything we can to make sure Trump doesn’t buy himself total control of our electoral system, or our once-great democracy is going to look like Vladimir Putin’s Russia.

Trump’s handpicked candidates are already proposing sweeping changes to our electoral system, including allowing endless audits, letting partisan state legislatures reject official election results, eliminating vote-by-mail, and more.
And that doesn’t even touch on the numerous Republican-led attacks on voting rights that have already become law since 2020!
The fact is, this is nothing less than a slow-motion coup by Trump and the GQP.
And it’s up to you and me to stop it.
