Food & Water Action is fighting for the future of our climate and the fate of democracy.
Anything that deepens global dependence on fossil fuels – including building costly new infrastructure – threatens both international security and the climate. The latest climate report from the U.N. is another grim and urgent reminder we need to end our dependence on fossil fuels. Help fight for a sustainable, fossil-free future with your gift to Food & Water Action.

John,

UN Secretary-General António Guterres calls the latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report “an atlas of human suffering and a damning indictment of failed climate leadership.” At our current pace of emissions, global temperatures are on track to rise between 2.1–3.5°C by the end of the century, well above the 1.5–2°C limit of the 2015 Paris climate agreement. This is the most urgent and alarming wake-up call yet.

Accelerating extreme weather events, including droughts, deadly heat, hurricanes and floods, are causing irreversible damage with some parts of the planet becoming uninhabitable. If we don’t act NOW, our future will be defined by extreme heat and disease, conflicts over food and water, out-of-control fires and rising seas.

To protect ourselves, global stability, and the planet, we must break our dependence on fossil fuels.

The U.S. must develop a new national energy strategy that relies on renewable energy and energy efficiency. Food & Water Action is working harder than ever to pressure President Biden and our elected leaders to go big on climate. And your support will make a difference. Your gift to Food & Water Action will help advance our work and power our battles against Big Oil & Gas. Together we can still curb climate change!

The U.S. is the largest oil and gas producer in the world. Big Oil & Gas corporations will exploit every crisis to push for more drilling, more fracking, and more gas exports. But building more fossil fuel infrastructure will only deepen our dependence on fossil fuels. Gas prices and home heating bills are already soaring because the industry is rigging prices and markets.

The latest IPCC report makes one thing clear: Now is the moment we must demand a halt to new fossil fuel development and a rejection of faulty schemes like carbon capture and emissions credit trading. Food & Water Action is raising our voice and we ask you to join us. Only a rapid, bold ramping-up of clean, renewable energy will save the planet and ourselves.

Donate $10 or more to Food & Water Action and help us organize against Big Oil & Gas and their political enablers. The time is now!
