We're excited to announce that Texans Care for Children is hiring a new full-time Policy Associate to join our team in Austin and help us fight for health coverage for Texas kids and families!

To reduce the sky-high uninsured rate for Texas kids and families, the new Policy Associate will play a key role in working to reduce the extra red tape that keeps kids bouncing off and on Medicaid health insurance and advocating for other state policies to ensure more U.S. citizens in Texas have health coverage.

The new Policy Associate will also have opportunities to support other children's policy issues on our agenda, such as student mental health, pre-k, child care, and policies regarding foster care and CPS.

If you know someone who might be interested in joining our team, please pass along the job announcement and help us build a strong pool of applicants that reflects the diversity of the population we serve.

We're also happy to tell you that Adriana Kohler ([link removed]) will now serve as our new Policy Director!

Since joining our team in 2016, Adriana has done great work ([link removed]) as our Senior Health Policy Associate, publishing several reports and playing an instrumental role in passing bills to provide more Texas moms the option of postpartum depression screening, ensuring more moms have transportation to prenatal care and postpartum appointments, and more.

As Policy Director, Adriana will continue to lead our maternal health work while taking on the new role of strengthening and coordinating our policy efforts across the organization.

We look forward to continuing to work with you as we strengthen our policy team!

Sincerely,

Stephanie Rubin
