This week the Mayor decided to send a 27-page (!) “84 Month Report.” While this document was clearly designed only to boost her reelection bid, she used taxpayer money to pay for it.

She thought she could get away with campaigning using government dollars, but she underestimated how tired DC residents are of the Mayor throwing away money for her own political benefit while basic government services aren’t working. I’ve heard from so many folks in the last few days who are furious about this wasteful spending and I’m with them.

The Mayor is resorting to using taxpayer dollars to fund her campaign efforts, which means she’s getting nervous. She should be. Our people-powered campaign can beat any political machine. I’m mad that she’s using our taxpayer dollars for her political benefit and I’m especially mad because with all the needs in our neighborhoods, this is the last thing our government should be focused on.
