The American people finally heard from those who witnessed Donald Trump's shakedown of a foreign country firsthand.

We heard damning testimony from career public servants – including a man Trump hand-picked to represent the United States in Ukraine – about the president's scheme to get Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 election.

We learned that an aide to Ambassador William Taylor overheard Trump asking about "the investigations.” Taylor also revealed he was told that Trump was more concerned about an investigation into Joe Biden than Ukraine.

Today’s testimony tied Trump even more closely to the Ukraine scandal. But at the end of the day, the facts remain unchanged: The President tried to get Ukraine to interfere in the 2020 election to help him get re-elected. He got caught. He confessed.

Now, we will hold him accountable. Hearings will continue on Friday and into next week. Thanks for standing with us in this fight.

P.S. While the impeachment inquiry hearing was happening in the Intelligence Committee, my colleagues and I on the Judiciary Committee voted to pass the Equal Rights Amendment to ensure women have equal rights under the law. The work continues!
