By now, you’ve likely seen the news that President Biden has kept his promise to nominate the first Black woman to the Supreme Court by announcing his nomination for Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson.

We are long overdue in seeing Black women represented on the highest court in our country. However, Judge Jackson’s confirmation hinges on a vote in the U.S. Senate. After a number of close votes this year, we are calling on our partners in the Senate to proceed with a timely nomination hearing and a swift vote.
