Friend,

Across the country, we've seen GOP-led legislatures draft more than 440 voter suppression laws across 49 states. Their plan? Make it more difficult for certain communities to vote so they can hold power in the states and in Congress.

These same attacks on voting rights are happening here in Montana.

Last year, two bills passed in the Montana state legislature -- H.B. 176, which eliminates same-day voter registration, and H.B. 530, which blocks organized ballot collection, a longtime and critical method of voting on rural reservations.

These two bills disproportionately impact voting rights of tribal and rural communities. As the Director of the Montana chapter of the ACLU put it: They are "heat-seeking missiles" for voter suppression.

The impact of these bills will be massive in the 2022 midterm, which is why our team is gearing up to counter them, but we need your support. Can you please chip in $3 to make sure we have the resources to educate voters about election dates, new polling locations, and registration deadlines? [[link removed]]

Protecting the right to vote isn’t a left vs. right issue, and there’s no question that these bills represent hyperpartisan and unconstitutional attacks on voting rights that we must stand against.

But the fact remains that this is the law of the land here in Montana. We need to adapt, which is why I’m asking:

If you believe in our work to expand voting access in Montana, please donate whatever you can today. The work we do now will ensure everyone’s voice is heard on Election Day. [[link removed]]

Thanks for your support,

Cora
