Brewers and distributors kick off charitable beer collaboration, Beer 4 Good
Major Brands, 4 Hands Brewing Co. and Urban Chestnut Brewing Co. kicked off the season of giving with the announcement of their first-of-its-kind charitable beer collaboration, Beer 4 Good, to benefit local nonprofit Mission: St. Louis. The two breweries collaborated on a blend of two ales. All proceeds will benefit the non-profit, which works to break the cycle of poverty.
Distributor to build new facility in Pflugerville, Texas, bring 304 jobs
Republic National Distributing Co., a Grand Prairie, Texas-based beer, wine and spirits distributor is opening operations in Pflugerville as part of an incentives deal that officials say will bring 304 full-time jobs to the city. Republic National will also make a $27 million capital investment in a 250,000-square-foot sales and distribution facility, officials said.
Aldi has added alcohol to its national grocery delivery partnership with Instacart. The hard discount grocer said Wednesday that customers can now order wine and beer online through its Instacart page, or via the Instacart mobile app, and have it delivered the same day, where permitted by state and local laws.
New Budweiser ad encourages drinking water in between beers
A new ad, starring actor Anthony Anderson and Los Angeles Lakers guard Danny Green, encourages responsible drinking – reminding people to hydrate with water between beers. Produced with the National Basketball Players Association, versions of the spot will broadcast on television during NBA games, online and in NBA arenas.
Another popular craft brewery has thrown its hat into the hard seltzer ring. DC Brau plans to quench the thirst of hard seltzer guzzlers in the Mid-Atlantic. The brewery's "Full Transparency" line debuting this month comes in four flavors: mango, black cherry, raspberry limeade, and passionfruit orange guava.
