When we launched our Ballot Measure Rescue Campaign, we made a promise — if we needed to bring litigation, we would litigate. Where we could stop bad laws from being passed, we would run aggressive communications and lobbying campaigns to stop anti-democratic bills. And if a legislature refers suppressive measures to the ballot, we would fight to beat those ballot campaigns.

Team: Our Ballot Measure Rescue Campaign (BMRC) has officially been put to the test by South Dakota’s Amendment C, which would significantly restrict voters’ ability to use ballot measures as a tool of direct democracy.

Of course, we had a plan: We’re supporting Democracy Forward as they litigate Amendment C and deploying our network of resources to support their counter-movement.

Still, the fight is far from over. This is where you come in, team. We’re in need of additional support to continue working alongside the coalition in South Dakota to terminate Amendment C.

To fortify the BMRC, and protect the ballot measure as a tool for changing policy and moving our country forward, will you contribute anything you can today to fuel our efforts in South Dakota and across the country, team?
