Be Aware of Each Other’s Goals and Aspirations
Not too long ago, we asked a variety of relationship therapists for their number one piece of marriage advice. Kimberly Panganiban, LMFT, said her advice would be to help make life dreams come true. She pointed out that research conducted by Dr. John Gottman revealed that there are various aspects of a relationship that are important to having a healthy, successful marriage including trust, commitment, friendship, conflict management, and shared meaning. “Making life dreams come true will help you succeed in all of these areas,” said Panganiban. “What I mean by that is being aware of one another’s goals, dreams, aspirations and helping one another fulfill and achieve them. If you can succeed in this, you will both feel like your partner knows you, cares about you, respects what you want and need, and supports you.”

Here are 18 more pieces of marriage advice therapists wanted to share.

Feel Overlooked When Working From Home? Make an Effort to Be Seen and Heard
It’s tough to feel underappreciated at work. It’s even more so when you’re working from home. Darcy Eikenberg, career coach and author of the book Red Cape Rescue: Save Your Career Without Leaving Your Job, says that when you’re working remotely, visibility equals viability. You’ve got to make sure that your manager and colleagues notice you. “This means speaking up on video calls and making the occasional, intentional trip into the office to see folks live,” Eikenberg says. “Or, if you live nearby other coworkers, invite them to lunch or coffee regularly so you remain top of mind — and help them stay visible, too.”

Here are some more tips to help you stand out when working from home.
