Hi Jack!

The other day, someone sent me some feedback. It said I should quit posting relatable (and sometimes silly) content and stick to talking about the problems facing Arkansans and what I could do about it as Lieutenant Governor.

I appreciate that feedback, but I think we could do both. Here’s why.

The more content we put out, the more people will learn about our race – and if they go to my page, they’ll find FOLDERS of videos covering the issues. (Most candidates don’t even have issues folders, but we want people to know exactly where I stand!)

And then there’s the question of what I’d do if elected. First things first, the Lieutenant Governor takes over as Governor if the Governor can no longer serve AND presides over the state Senate with a tie-breaking vote. We don't have many tie-breaking votes in the Arkansas Senate, but we could!

The Lieutenant Governor does have an exciting position as a BIG megaphone in the state. It’s the second-highest executive leadership position – and I’ll use that platform to advocate for issues important to Arkansans.

I’m the ONLY Democrat in this race. Can I count on you to contribute to my race so I can make sure my family and yours have a loud voice in Little Rock? We’re just $750 short of our mid-month goal.

I talk about foster care a lot, but another big issue near and dear to my heart is the clunkiness of the criminal justice system.

For example, let’s say you got some kind of small drug charge and you missed your court date - now you’ve got a failure to appear, and you’re going to get a warrant, and your driver’s license is going to get suspended, and that’s a $200 reinstatement fee.

You’ve got to figure out where to start to get in good standing with the law. You’ll need a job to pay the fee, but you’ll need to drive a car to get to work, but you don’t have a license – you see where I’m going with this?

We CAN make this process more simple for people. As Lt. Gov, I can’t fix the problems, but I can shine a light on systems that are not working well for people and pass the mic to the experts who can.

If you’re ready to help me win this race, please pitch in now before tomorrow night.

Thanks so much for your help!

Best,

Kelly
