The first time my sister ran for office, everyone told her that she didn’t have a chance. Including the polls.

But she was undeterred, she worked hard -- and she won.

And when she ran for the office of California Attorney General -- the largest state attorney general’s office in the United States -- the polls weren’t in her favor either. The race ended up being so close that her opponent declared victory on election night, only to have Kamala be announced as the winner three weeks later.
