Well, folks, it seems that Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell are in the middle of a GQP civil war. So, should we be picking a side? I mean, they’re both obviously terrible people, but is one of them worse than the other? That is a question I’ve been struggling with.

Donald Trump is pure evil in every sense of the word, but so is Mitch McConnell. Then again, Mitch did come out and say Trump lost the 2020 election, so that should count for something, right?

Well, not necessarily, and here’s why: Mitch McConnell built Trump. He used him and embraced him for 4 years and transformed his entire party into a pack of drooling Trump sycophants just to get his radical, right-wing, anti-American agenda passed. Only when it was convenient for him did he finally turn on Trump, but the damage was already done – the GQP is now the party of Trump, whether Trump is in office or not.

Okay, sure – but what Donald Trump did was un-American – I mean, trying to steal a Presidential election is about as authoritarian as it gets!

… or is it? Because on the other hand, you have Mitch McConnell actively plotting to steal not just one election, but ALL of the elections, from President right on down to the town dogcatcher.

You see, when Mitch McConnell works with radical right-wing politicians in red states to actively bring back Jim Crow laws that keep racial minorities, poor people, people with disabilities, and other marginalized groups from voting, that is the definition of disenfranchisement, otherwise known as “stealing people’s votes.”

I think the real answer is that both sides of this GQP civil war are so bad that no matter who wins, the rest of us lose.

Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump are both anti-American, anti-Democracy, wannabe dictators. Mitch McConnell is a little – okay, maybe a lot smarter than Trump, but they are both dangerous, they are both not-to-be-trusted, and we must do everything we can to defeat them both.

So, how do we do that?

We get to work!!!

Look, we know that voting rights activists in the Democratic Party have the best lawyers challenging every single anti-democratic bill that the GOP passes, but the problem is, the courts are slow, and some of these laws have already gone into effect ahead of the midterms.

We simply can't wait for the legal system to play itself out, especially when we know how good Mitch McConnell has been at packing the courts in his favor over the years.

That’s why we here at No Dem Left Behind are taking the fight to these red states and focusing on talking to people on the ground face-to-face. We will be training and equipping organizers to go into disenfranchised communities across rural and red America and make sure they know what their rights are, know where their voting locations are, and most importantly, get registered to vote and make a plan to vote.

If all of this sounds difficult, that's because it is. It is also NECESSARY.
