DC Young Republican February Membership Meeting

Membership Meeting this Thursday at Hillsdale in DC

Meet fellow Young Republicans this Thursday, February 17th, at Hillsdale College’s DC Campus and hear more about upcoming events, including our March board elections, future networking happy hours, and a preview of our midterm deployment plans! Complimentary food and drink will be available.

NOTE: this is a members-only meeting. For security purposes, an RSVP/registration is required to attend this meeting.

Executive Board Election Season Is Here!

Elections for the DCYR Executive Board are next month! Candidate filing period begins open until February 28!

The elected officer positions are Chairman, Executive Vice Chair, National Committeeman, National Committeewoman, Vice Chair of Communications, Vice Chair of Events, Vice Chair of Finance, Vice Chair of Service, and Vice Chair of Membership. A candidate for any office must be an active DCYR member in good standing for at least sixty (60) days prior to running for office.

There are special criteria for Chair, National Committeeman, and National Committeewoman. To run for those offices, the candidates must reside in the District of Columbia.

To be eligible to vote, you must be registered as an Active/Full Member by 30 days prior to our election (February 25, 2022). To qualify as an Active/Full Member, you must be: (i) between the ages of 18-40; and (ii) be a resident or work in the District of Columbia within the past twelve (12) month period.

Timeline:

• February 25, 2022: Deadline to register as a member in order to be eligible to vote.

• February 28, 2022: Deadline for candidates to 'file' their candidacy by email to Elections Committee Chair, Jonathon Hauenschild, at [email protected]. Please include your name, confirmation of your active membership, and the position for which you plan to run for.

• March 14, 2022: Candidates running for executive board elections will have the opportunity to give speeches at the March membership meeting, scheduled for Monday, March 14th at the Capitol Hill Club. Nominations from the floor will also be entertained for those who did not file by the February 28 deadline.

• Week of March 21, 2022 - Executive Board Election Day: (Election Night Date, Time, and Venue TBA). Elections will be held using a secret paper ballot. Only Active/Full Members registered prior to February 25, 2022 will be permitted to vote.

  • Results will be announced via Facebook following the voting period.
