Dear Friends,
In September, we asked you to contact Liberty Mutual Insurance to protest
the demeaning and violent emu ads they’re running to sell car
insurance. We urged you to tell them to remove these offensive ads.

Tell Liberty Mutual Insurance to Pull Their Emu Ads
Liberty Mutual responded: “LiMu Emu is a mix of a real bird and CGI. Live emus were used during the initial shoot on set. The final images of the emu in the commercials are a blend of footage captured from the live emus and our digitally created emu.”
Here is our correspondence with Liberty Mutual regarding their claim
that the emus shown in the ads are a blend of computer generated images
and live emus.

Among the many letters our supporters sent to Liberty Mutual, here are two that go to the heart – the heartlessness – of the matter:
By contrast, the Chantix turkey commercials are very appealing – so much so, we’d love this lovable turkey to become a large cuddly children’s snugglebird. If the Chantix turkey were a child’s cuddly friend, many children (and parents) might not want to eat turkeys anymore. Maybe these ads are already having this happy effect.
Please contact Liberty Mutual – again, even if you already did – and protest their disgusting car insurance emu ads. If you feel comfortable doing so, we’re asking you also to tell Pfizer you are charmed by their Chantix turkey. (This is not an endorsement for Pfizer! – only the Chantix turkey!)
