Dear Friend,

Adhikaar is the country’s only worker and community center dedicated to serving and mobilizing the Nepali-speaking community. Immigration justice is a central part of this work. Many of our members are TPS holders who live their lives on the short term. They often face discrimination at the intersection of race, class, gender, and immigration status. Through a mix of organizing, advocacy and service work, our immigration justice strives to meet the urgent needs of our members while building the power of our community to demand a dignified immigration system.

Just in the last quarter of 2021, we organized our members to push for inclusive immigration reform by calling their electeds, writing letters, signing petitions, speaking out at rallies, and mobilizing fellow community members. Our community was out on the streets, demanding Congress to deliver on their promise of green cards to all 11 million+ undocumented individuals. Sitar, a longtime member shared his demands at a recent rally:

We have not given up on a permanent solution for TPS holders yet. Follow us on social media as we keep the drumbeat on to push Congress and the Biden administration to deliver green cards for all 11 million+ undocumented individuals.

This is a snapshot of our holistic immigration justice work. To learn more about our campaigns, services, and advocacy efforts, check out our latest newsletter highlighting our immigration and case work programs.

Thank you for taking the time to support and uplift our work. Your donation helps Adhikaar meet the challenges of today and work to build a system that works for all of us.

In solidarity,

Pabitra Khati Benjamin,

Executive Director, Adhikaar
