Friend,

Yesterday, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the Trump Administration's attempts to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. If the Court allows the administration's cruel policy to take effect, nearly one million immigrants who've only known the United State as home since childhood will face deportation and have their lives irrevocably altered.

I stand in solidarity with all who gathered in DC and right here in Austin, to rally in support of DACA and all the DACA recipients throughout the United States. Our message is simple: this is your home, and we’re with you.

We're rallying Texans to stand up and say that #HomeisHere. Can you add your name to our petition supporting Dreamers and urging the Supreme Court to protect DACA?

DACA recipients and their families are a part of Texas. Over 100,000 Dreamers reside here. Dreamers and their parents represent the best of us -- and now we’re on the verge of taking the promise of America away from them. The Trump administration’s backward-looking, self-defeating attack on Dreamers is a symptom of how badly out of whack Congress’ priorities are -- and realigning those priorities is what I will work to change if elected to Congress.

We need to fundamentally reform our immigration system so it reflects who we want to be -- a country where our fellow human beings are treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their immigration status. And Texans know how much we benefit every single day from the contributions immigrants make to our success, our culture, and our communities.

We must make DACA recipients U.S. citizens and affirm the Dream and Promise Act of 2019. Let’s push back on the false choice that politicians often try to get us to make -- to choose between our humanity and this country’s security. Indeed, the anti-immigrant policies that this administration has embraced leave our communities less safe.

By standing with Dreamers today, we affirm that we will not allow hate and fear to divide us. We show that we believe in an America capable of so much more humanity, empathy, and justice. Please show your solidarity today by signing our petition: [link removed]

Thank you,

Julie
