I need you to understand what’s happening right now in Alabama, Friend.

Earlier this week, the U.S. Supreme Court ordered a stay on the new congressional maps drawn for the state.

Here’s what that means:

1. Alabama created new maps that greatly diluted the voices of black voters – they intentionally put the majority of black voters into one district to keep the others in Republican hands.
2. Democrats successfully fought these maps in the courts.
3. But the Supreme Court doesn’t care. They are refusing to recognize these efforts – they claim it’s too close to the election to change anything and ordered the new maps to be reinstated.

The implications of this decision are extraordinary, Friend, and I need you to understand everything that’s at stake here.

The U.S. Supreme Court has used this opportunity to show Americans they don’t plan to take ANY immediate action when it comes to fighting voter suppression.

From the Senate to now even the Supreme Court, our nation’s leaders have failed minority American voters. Voter suppression is one of the most serious issues our country faces today – yet we can’t even get our leaders to take it seriously.

That’s why I need your help right now, Friend.

We need real Democratic leaders in office who will put voter protection first – leaders who will provide the necessary resources we need to expand our voice at the ballot box.
