Indivisibles,
January was a hard month, and it followed a year (and more) of hard work
to use a Democratic trifecta to win democracy reform. All of us have been
fighting for months or years to win real democracy reform and keep an
arcane Senate rule from blocking progress on our most important issues --
and we suffered a real setback as two Democrats refused to side with their
   party and the people.
But a setback is not a defeat, and our priorities are much too crucial to
let go that easily. Now that we’ve taken some time to regroup, we need
your help to step into the next phase of our work. Keep a lookout over the
next few weeks for more detail, but here’s what we know right now:
     * We’re fighting to fill a Supreme Court vacancy with a Black woman with
a clear progressive record. And once that’s done, we’ll still be
working to reform our judiciary to reverse a decades-long
       ultra-conservative partisan takeover.
     * We’re also looking for all the legislative battles we could still win.
From finding ways to move forward as much of the Build Back Better
agenda as possible, to working tactically on other priorities as they
arise, we must demand that Democrats use the remainder of their
trifecta to win real improvements for people’s lives.
     * Through all these campaigns, we’re constantly working to find new,
creative ways to engage the grassroots (that’s you!) and exert public
       pressure on decisionmakers.
Let’s be honest: None of this is going to be easy, and most of it probably
won’t be quick either. The way we can win is by building a resilient
movement of folks who can support each other while demanding our
government put the needs of the people first. And that means investing in
the work: doing the outreach to get people on board and offering the tools
and resources they need to get engaged. We need your help to fund it all.

Last month's turn for our democracy campaign wasn't the start to the year
that we were hoping for, and we hope that you take the time you need to
grapple with that. But we hope you’ll join us for the next phase of this
fight when you’re ready -- we haven’t been defeated, only deterred, and we
still have so much we can accomplish if we work together.
   In solidarity,
   Indivisible Team
