The Center for American Progress releases annual updates on early learning in the U.S.

The Center for American Progress recently released their annual report that highlights the opportunities and areas for improvement across all 50 states and Washington D.C.

The report outlines current child care costs, gaps in child care access and funding, and an overview of workforce wages for each state. It is also a great resource for advocates and policymakers looking for recommendations on how best to support working families.

Oregon’s kids win

During its last legislative session, Oregon passed HB 3427, also known as the Student Success Act, which will result in a $1 billion dollar annual investment in Oregon’s kids. This investment will be divided amongst early learning and K-12 education.

Recently, we conducted an interview with Dana Hepper, director of policy & advocacy at the Children’s Institute in Oregon, to learn more about the instrumental role she played in getting this legislation passed.
