Inequality, poverty, and climate change may have been amplified by the pandemic but they aren’t receding as COVID cases begin to go down. Confronting those systemic risks to our shared prosperity is critical to secure an inclusive recovery, and a healthier economy overall.
We have an opportunity right now to put our country’s economic recovery into the hands of experts in systemic poverty and inequality – but there’s a fight to win first. Ahead of a Senate hearing today, Brad organized with fellow stewards of state and city budgets to call for the speedy confirmation of President Biden’s nominees to the Federal Reserve: Sarah Bloom Raskin, Dr. Lisa Cook, and Dr. Philip Jefferson.

President Biden’s nominees are facing a backlash campaign by right wing Republicans across the country – because they know that diverse leaders with expertise in analyzing and confronting inequality and climate risk will make choices that lead to better sharing prosperity across our country.
