Equality Federation Institute

Dear John,

February is a month to honor and celebrate Black brilliance, and it also serves as a potent reminder that we have so much more work to do as a movement. As we commemorate National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, Equality Federation, Georgia Equality, and Positive Women's Network - USA are hosting a town hall for our state partners and LGBTQ+ advocates at large.

I want to invite you to our town hall on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 11 a.m. - 1p.m. PST /12 p.m - 2 p. m. MST/ 1p.m. - 3 p.m. CST / 2p.m. - 4p.m. EST

The new National HIV/AIDS Strategy informed us that gay and bisexual men account for 66% of all new HIV transmissions each year, and an estimated 44% of Black trans women and 26% of Latina trans women live with HIV. During our town hall, we will provide you with an overview of the new strategy & federal landscape, its relevance to LGBTQ+ communities, and ways to get more involved in HIV advocacy statewide so we can put an end to this epidemic. We know that centering Black people and people living with HIV is critical to ending the HIV epidemic, and we look forward to sharing with you what that can look like in 2022 and onward.

Happy Black History Month!

Most appreciative,
