Folks,

Today is the first day of Black History Month, and I’m asking you to join me in celebrating the profound impact Black Americans have made on our nation’s history.

From the Civil Rights leaders who challenged our nation to live up to its ideals, to the community leaders, entertainers, and trailblazers that have uplifted the Black community and shaped this great nation.

As we celebrate the amazing contributions Black Americans have made throughout history, we must also acknowledge the systemic discrimination that the Black community continues to face.

The fight for social and economic justice is far from over, and it’s our duty to carry the torch and continue pushing this nation towards progress.

This month and every month of the year, I’m standing in solidarity with the Black community and I’m committed to doing the work to create an equitable and just future for all Nevadans.
