We just filed an amicus brief in a historic, first of its kind case along with our gun violence prevention coalition partners to hold the U.S. gun lobby accountable. Before I tell you all about it and why this is so important, can you make a quick donation to support our youth-led Judicial Advocacy work?
Mexico v. Smith & Wesson et. al. could deal a major and unprecedented blow to hold American gun manufacturers accountable for perpetuating gun violence abroad. It’s the first time a national government has ever sued gun manufacturers in America for their complicity in facilitating the flow of deadly weapons around the world.
That’s why my friends and I in the Judicial Advocacy team worked tirelessly with our coalition partners to put together this amicus brief in support of Mexico’s lawsuit, and it’s because of supporters like you that we can continue doing this important work. John, your support goes a long way in the fight against gun violence. Can you donate whatever you can to our movement today?
As a Mexican-American, I’m proud to have been a part of this work. For far too long, the gun lobby has been untouchable and protected from any legal responsibility for the impacts of marketing and selling militarized weapons. It’s our hope that this case will weaken these protections for good and bring meaningful accountability for the lives lost and devastated by gun violence, both in America and around the world. This work cannot be done without you, I hope you’ll consider donating to bring an end to gun violence.
Thanks for all you do,
Tabitha Escalante
