Dear friend,
Thanks to thousands of people like you joining our campaign, we managed to get a call with the International Monetary Fund last week. We asked them to stop bailing out reckless lenders and they took some of our points on board but didn't go far enough. You can help us build the pressure:

We won some real change - they committed to agree definitions of when debts become unsustainable. This is a good step as it will make it much clearer as to when countries are in crisis.
But the changes didn’t go far enough. The IMF are still mostly concerned with helping irresponsible lenders get their profits back, at the cost of human rights and essential public services to citizens of countries trapped in debt.
We need them to commit to helping countries restructure their debt when there is a crisis, instead of just bailing out reckless lenders. With 31 countries currently facing a debt crisis, there’s no time to waste.
We’re making real progress, but we need more and more of us to tell the new leader of the IMF to change, and now is the time to make our voices heard. Please add your name to the thousands who have already signed the letter to the new IMF Chief.

It’s time to bail out the people, not the banks.
Thank you
Abinaya
