Dear John -
January always feels like a long month and we’ve reached the end! It seems impossible to capture everything that’s happened in the past 31 days, so here are some of the highlights:

✅ Passed our bill modernizing our state’s distracted driving laws with bipartisan support in the Michigan House 📵🚘

✅ Passed our first-time homebuyers savings account bill! It is now on its way to Governor Whitmer’s desk for her signature 🏠

✅ General Motors, Michigan House Democrats and Governor Whitmer announce $6.5 billion investment in Michigan for electric vehicle manufacturing and creating over 4,000 jobs 🚗⚡

✅ Hosted our final 40th District Youth Advisory Council meeting with students from our district 😊

✅ Celebrated the anniversary of Roe v Wade and renewed the call to repeal dangerous abortion bans ✊🏻

✅ Stood up for the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act being debated in the US Senate that would restore and strengthen voting rights 🗳️

✅ Prepared to watch the Olympics and cheer on our many athletes representing Michigan at the Games! ⛸️🏂🏽🥇

And so much more!

We have a lot of work ahead of us as we head into election year. We have a new map and a new district and need all the help we can get to reach new voters.

Today marks the end of the month deadline and we are still short of our January fundraising goal. Can you chip in $25, $50 or even $100 right now before midnight?

Thank you for being by my side -

- Mari

PS - At midnight tonight we close our books on January 2022. With election year upon us - there is a lot at stake and every dollar counts. Can you chip in before midnight tonight? Thanks!
