John -- This is bad:
"Steven Law, president of Senate Leadership Fund, a super PAC aligned with Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, said at a donor event Thursday night that the goal of SLF and its affiliated nonprofit One Nation was to raise $200 million for the cycle, and that they are on track to raise $50 million this year."
- Politico, 11/08
Super PACs like Senate Leadership Fund can raise this kind of money because they can always just call up their wealthy, special interest donors for cash.
Our team can't do that -- and we wouldn't want to anyway. We're proud of the fact that we are funding this campaign through small-dollar, grassroots donations and NOT corporate PAC money.
But that does mean we occasionally need to ask our supporters for help. Now is one of those times:
Can you make a $3 contribution to support our people-powered campaign right away? We need your help if we're going to keep up with Republican super PACs like Senate Leadership Fund.
Our race could determine control of the U.S. Senate -- we're the most flippable state this cycle! We have to come through.
All our best,
- Team Sara
