Long before he became president, Donald Trump had a history of racism and ignorance. We saw it again in 2017 when he signed an executive order banning Muslims from entering the United States.

- March 9, 2016 - Donald Trump: "I think Islam hates us. There's something there that — there's a tremendous hatred there. There's a tremendous hatred. We have to get to the bottom of it. There's an unbelievable hatred of us."
- November 18, 2021 - Lauren Boebert, in addressing Rep. Ilhan Omar: "The Jihad Squad member from Minnesota has paid her husband, and not her brother husband, the other one, over a million dollars in campaign funds."
Though Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, too many of his followers in the Treason Caucus remain in power and continue to support backward, racist policies that only serve to undermine our democracy.
