Hey John,

Did you know that there have already been more than 2,000 gun deaths in 2022? Every year we’re seeing an increase in gun violence, and every year we’re seeing our elected officials take little to no action. 

Gun violence must be dealt with urgently. Yet, we’ve seen nothing but inaction from Congress. We can’t wait until another mass shooting takes place for our elected leaders to act, and we will not accept just thoughts and prayers. Right now, President Biden can appoint a Director of Gun Violence Prevention to develop and execute a national plan to swiftly address gun violence – and he doesn’t need Congressional approval to do so.

John, can you join me in asking the Biden Administration to appoint a Director of Gun Violence Prevention to address the gun violence epidemic plaguing our communities?

We are calling for a Director of Gun Violence Prevention that must empower federal agencies that have been weakened by the gun lobby, implement the Biden-Harris gun violence prevention policy platform with a survivor-based approach, and lead a task force panel to study and recommend legislative, executive, and budgetary reforms.

John, Biden can do all of this with just one stroke of a pen. We cannot wait any longer for Congress to take action, President Biden must act now and live up to the promises he made on the campaign trail. It’s up to us to hold him accountable.
