I’m Beverly Chatmon, a registered nurse, proud union member of Local 251, and a longtime Omaha resident. I’m writing today to tell you about my daughter Alisha, who is running to be the first female member of Congress from our district.

I’ll tell you more about her in a moment, but first, I’m hoping you can show your support for her campaign by chipping in $3 or whatever you can spare today.

I couldn’t be more proud of my daughter. I raised Alisha and her siblings in subsidized housing right here in Omaha and we relied on many social programs. When Alisha became a mental health therapist, she had the opportunity to work at the same clinic that she grew up attending — and now she is running for Congress to give back to the community that shaped her.

Her whole life, Alisha has wanted to help people and has been determined to fight for what is right. I’ve always encouraged her to stand up for others and pay attention to ensure she can help whenever necessary. When I was in nursing school when she was just seven years old, she asked me to teach her CPR, which she has used several times to help folks in emergencies.

I know Alisha will be a fierce advocate for Nebraska because I have seen her work to help folks every day of her life. Her campaign counts on supporters like you, so I’m asking you today to chip in $5, $10, or any amount to support her movement.
