Friends,

I’ve felt a renewed sense of confidence knowing that I embark on this year with the support of this community. Thanks to the collective impact of San Franciscans just like you, I’m happy to announce that hundreds of grassroots donors chipped in to support our campaign in 2021.

What’s more, we’ve also made great progress towards tackling the biggest issues in our District.

Last year, we accomplished so much, from the successful rollout of an equitable vaccine program to creating new resources to fight food insecurity felt by our working families. In 2021, I was the first Black man elected to serve as the President of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, and I am honored to continue serving our District in that role this year.

Lastly, we capped off a year of profound progress by passing the Access to Paid Sick Leave Ordinance; [[link removed]] a first-in-the-nation rule that will allow our city’s domestic workers to accrue paid sick time just as our hourly workers do.

In 2022, we’re going to build on the momentum and ensure San Francisco lives up to its ideals and promises. We’re going to continue creating a community that provides opportunities for all of our residents.

We have a lot of work to do in the year to come, but right now, I want you to know I’m so grateful to have you on this team. I look forward to all we will accomplish together in the year ahead.

Gratefully,
Shamann
