Hey John,
When Biden was elected a year ago, I was hopeful that his administration would be as bold and progressive as the gun violence prevention platform he ran on – but that’s not what we’ve seen so far. While his administration has made some strides in investing in gun violence prevention programs and attempted to invest more through the Build Back Better act, it has not been enough.
John, this year may be our best chance to get our demands passed before November's election. We are going to need all the support we can get to hold the Biden Administration accountable this year. So, John can you help fuel our movement this year by donating whatever you can?
With gun violence increasing almost every year, it’s time our elected leaders recognize gun violence as a national emergency in the United States and treat it like one. We can't rely on Congress to pass legislation swiftly, especially with politicians like Sen. Sinema and Sen. Manchin in office, and this issue requires swift action. That’s why we’re calling on Biden to appoint a Director of Gun Violence Prevention within his administration – an action he can take with no congressional approval, just the stroke of a pen.
Our work has always been about organizing at the grassroots level and bringing that work to the national stage. John, it’s up to us to keep the Biden Administration accountable and to make sure he lives up to his campaign promises. We’ve built a lot of momentum these past few years and it's up to supporters like you to help us continue our movement. We do this work to honor all the people who lost their lives to senseless gun violence. Help us keep it going.
In Solidarity,
