One year ago today—in between the insurrection and the inauguration—I launched BACKROADS PAC. It was a fitting time, as both moments underscored just how important Democratic control of Congress is for our democracy and the progress we’ve been fighting for.

BACKROADS PAC’s mission is to support rural Democrats around the country as they take on Republican incumbents. As a former candidate, I know first-hand how Democrats in rural areas have been left behind for decades, lacking infrastructure, organization, and resources. That’s what we are working to change. * We endorsed and raised money for three Democratic frontline incumbents and four challengers
