This Martin Luther King Jr. Day, I can't help but think about all of the issues he fought for -- and how we are still fighting for them today. Securing a living wage, voting rights, and racial equality feels more pressing (and out-of-reach) than ever.

But building a more equitable, more just world is ALWAYS worth it.

In 1965, President Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act into law thanks to the work of the Civil Rights Movement. Now, more than 50 years later, we have to fight to make sure the John Lewis Voting Rights Act is passed.

Dr. Martin Luther King dedicated his life to justice. May his legacy remind us that we must carry on his fight.

In solidarity,

- Katie
