Friend,

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dr. King dedicated his life to fighting for civil liberties — and though he was consistently met with violent opposition, the Reverend's message of unity and justice remained unwavering.

Even in one of the ugliest periods in our country's history, Dr. King believed at his core that progress, though hard to achieve, could be won, and that "the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice."

In other words, change takes time, but it is inevitable — and unstoppable.

As we honor Dr. King, let us understand that even today, there is so much progress left to be made. Here in Pennsylvania, we're fighting a constant battle against proposed voter suppression laws — but I'm fighting every day so that everyone has a voice in our elections.

We have a long way to go before we fully realize Dr. King's vision for our country, but I'm honored for the opportunity to serve this district and use my position to uplift all voices in our community.

Together, we can build a brighter, more just future for Allegheny County.

Sincerely,

Lindsey Williams
