Friends —

Here at Fairness Project, we are honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. today, and that means remembering his political demand for the total enfranchisement of Black Americans across the country. A demand which includes unimpeded access to elections, non-discriminatory employment practices, and economic empowerment.

We believe the potential to make real progress on this issue exists everywhere and we’re prepared to do the work to turn that potential into policy. Dr. King and his allies laid out the vital framework. Now, it’s up to our generation to make good on those old hopes and promises.

Today, and every day, we reflect on Dr. King’s long, impactful career of social justice activism, and think about how our work can aspire to meet his urgent political demand for fairness.
