ON THIS DAY, the first impeachment trial of Donald Trump begins in the U.S. Senate

Two years ago today, the Senate accepted the articles of impeachment against Donald Trump for collusion with a foreign entity to influence the upcoming election. This officially began the third ever impeachment trial of a U.S. President and Chief Justice John Roberts and U.S. Senators were sworn in to enact justice for the high-crimes of Donald Trump.
