Team, once again, Rep. Tony Gonzales has let us down.

Gonzales has voted against The Guard And Reserve GI Bill Parity Act that would expand GI Bill benefits for National Guard and reserve members by allowing any day getting paid and being in uniform on federal orders, including for training, to count toward eligibility for school tuition benefits under the post-9/11 GI Bill.

Thankfully, the bill still passed in the House — but this just shows how ready Gonzales is to leave service members behind.

This is personal. After I served 11 years in the Marine Corps, it was GI bill benefits that allowed me to earn an associate’s degree from San Antonio College and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

And to think that Gonzales would make earning these benefits harder — after these National Guard and reserve members risked their lives for years to serve our country — is despicable.

It’s time we hold him accountable for decisions against veterans like this by voting him out of office this year.

Can you make a donation right now to power our fight to kick Gonzales out of office so I can get to Washington and fight for veterans, their families and every member of the communities in TX-23 and beyond? [[link removed]]

It was this education that sparked my need to serve on the frontlines of public policy to help my community. It taught me that the way to directly address issues in our district is by creating meaningful change with powerful legislation.

I’m ready to get to Washington and get things done. I’m ready to vote for bills like this with the people’s interests and needs behind me — and nothing else.

Make a donation right now to help power this campaign so I can get to Washington and fight for the people of TX-23. [[link removed]]

Let’s get to work,
