One year ago today—in between the insurrection and the inauguration—I launched BACKROADS PAC. It was a fitting time, as both moments underscored just how important Democratic control of Congress is for our democracy and the progress we’ve been fighting for.

BACKROADS PAC’s mission is to support rural Democrats around the country as they take on Republican incumbents. As a former candidate, I know first-hand how Democrats in rural areas have been left behind for decades, lacking infrastructure, organization, and resources. That’s what we are working to change.

Thanks to your support over the past year, we have made exciting inroads towards our mission:

• We raised over $360,000 from 8,640 contributions
   
• We endorsed and raised money for three Democratic frontline incumbents and four challengers
   
• We invested in nationwide research and polling in key swing districts in states like Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin

We now have just 41 weeks between now and Election Day to ramp up our efforts and make sure Democrats have the resources to protect and expand our House majority. Will you give any amount today to make sure we can continue our important work?

Growing Republican extremism has added increased urgency to our mission. The GOP has a real shot of taking back the House in November, and if you’ve been reading my emails, you already know how dangerous that would be. The stakes couldn’t be higher, but I know that together, we can accomplish great things.
