John,
People shouldn’t have to choose between raising a family and working — but the lack of affordable child care in our country is a barrier for many parents as they look to enter the workforce.
In Westchester County, the average cost of child care for one child is $2,000 a month. Our child care system is broken and must be fixed in order to continue building our country back better.
Last year, Mondaire played a leading role in ensuring key provisions of a bill he introduced with Elizabeth Warren, the Universal Child Care and Early Learning Act, was included in the Build Back Better Act. The result has been that universal child care is the hallmark of President Biden’s Build Back Better agenda.
The universal child care provisions in the Build Back Better Act will ensure every family has access to high-quality, affordable child care and early learning opportunities by establishing a network of federally supported, locally administered child care options.
Mondaire is fighting to invest in our families and ensure parents who are often forced to stay home can seek employment without being financially burdened.
Thanks for standing with our team. We’re fighting to advance legislation that provides working- and middle-class families with affordable child care and furthers equity in our communities.
