This week Ted Cruz accidentally committed the cardinal sin of the new GOP: he told the truth. 

On the floor of the Senate, Cruz called the January 6 coup what it was, “a violent terrorist attack on the U.S. Capitol.”

Ted Cruz tells the truth as often as Donald Trump walks by a mirror without fixing his toupee. It’s been comical to watch the rest of the MAGA-verse stumble over themselves to figure out what to do about it.

We saw Tucker Carlson calling Cruz a liar. Cruz calling himself “sloppy, and frankly dumb.” Carlson telling him, “I just don’t believe you.”

You’ll hear me say this one time only: I’m with Tucker. No one believes Ted Cruz…but watching him humiliate himself is delicious.

Now Cruz is back to tripping over himself to get back in the party line, licking his wounds and the boots of the GOP golden boys lining up to flog him. You know we aren’t going to stand by and let them have all the fun. 

We’re going to make sure he remembers: the truth hurts, Ted. Help us make sure he can’t slink away from this one.
