Today is a significant day of reflection on our democracy.
On this very day, one year ago, our nation's Capitol Building was attacked.
We all watched in horror as a murderous mob breeched the Capitol’s doors, all to stop the certification of our 2020 presidential election results.
This wasn’t a random attack. This was planned, encouraged, and inspired by Donald Trump. And to this very day, Republicans across the country STILL won’t admit this truth.
Democrats in Congress have created a Committee to investigate the involvement of the Trump Administration – but that doesn’t mean we’ve done everything we can to hold those accountable for their actions.
Since this very day, 10 Republican insurrectionists have been elected to office. And six more are now running for Congress.
The most impactful way to hold these insurrectionists accountable is to strip them of their power – and that means defeating them at the ballot box in 2022 and beyond.
I started VoterPAC to show Californians – and Americans across the country – how powerful our right to vote is. Our voice is the very foundation of our democracy. And so long as Republicans who enabled Trump and his lies maintain power, our democracy will continue to be under attack. We as a nation cannot afford to stay silent.
I promise to do my part each and every day and I hope you will do the same.
Together, we will make sure democracy stands strong.
Thank you,
TJ
